Toms Returns to Defend His Title David Toms

Each January the Sony Open in Hawaii attracts 144 of the world's greatest golf professionals to the Waialae Country Club on the island of Oahu. The event is the largest charity event in Hawaii and has raised over $6 million dollars for the local non-for-profits since 1999.

In 2006, David Toms won his 12th PGA TOUR event as he shot a 5-under 65 during the final round of the Sony Open in Hawaii to win the season's first full-field event by a commanding five strokes. Toms shot in the 60s each round and his third round 61 set a course record. Finishing tied for second were Chad Campbell and Rory Sabbatini, who shot a 62 on the final day.
